Micromax YUREKA, Cyanogen’s New Ally

Micromax

Recently I commented that OnePlus possibly stop working with Cyanogen, but apparently the matter was reversed, this because past few weeks saw confirmation of this separation when the company Micromax announced the launch of a new terminal that would exclusively – from now onwards CyanogenMod 11. Note that Cyanogen announced it will continue to support the OnePlus One, so possibly cut ties permanently after upgrading to Android 5.0 this terminal Lollipop, or better known as CyanogenMod 12.

Well, Micromax finally unveiled its new terminal, which would become the second smartphone (cousin was OnePlus One) to bring from manufactures Custom ROM CyanogenMod team M11. His name is Yureka, unlike what many expected, we are facing a the OnePlus One, but can boast of bringing the backing of Cyanogen and a pretty good hardware, something not less more “modest” terminal.

Among the technical specifications of Micromax Yureka we find:

  • IPS Screen 5.5″ (1280 x 720 pixels) with Corning Gorilla Glass 3
  • Processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 (MSM8939) Octacore 64 bits
  • GPU Adreno 405
  • 2GB DDR3 RAM
  • 16GB of internal memory expandable via microSD
  • Battery 2500mAh
  • Dual SIM
  • 13MP rear camera with LED Flash, Sony Exmor R sensor IMX135, aperture f / 2.2, 1080p video at 30fps –
  • 60fps slow motion 720pa
  • Front camera 5MP sensor OmniVision 5648, 71st vision
  • Dimensions: 154.8 x 78.6 x 8.8mm
  • Connectivity: 4G LTE, 3G HSPA +, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, FM Radio
  • CyanogenMod 11 based on Android OS 4.4 (KitKat)

Opinions have been many on this new terminal, which most often repeated is that we are facing a “low cost” version of OnePlus One, with all that entails that, remember that the terminal OnePlus in itself is already low price. But has the full support of CyanogenMod, in fact Steve Kondik of CM has been in the presentation. It is a customizable phone and will feature various settings that integrates CyanogenMod. In addition to installing apps by tapping or protection, various options are added at the factory. Come with factory unlocked bootloader and the warranty will cover altogether, despite root the phone.

Now what many we care, the price of the phone is really interesting, although we have no hardware pointer, if we are off to a good hardware and support from Cyanogen, so to hear that this terminal costs about USD $ 150 will leave many with open mouth, perhaps the only thing that is not going to be like this-at the terminal Like many others are geared to Asian markets, and in the case of Yureka are facing a pointing device directly to India exclusively via Amazon.in. Reservations begin on December 19 and will be available in the second week of January 2015. An important all looking good start in the industry mobile device market.
